Oil on Wood & Mixed Media
Following the discovery of a number of equally sized bits of wood, I used a great many of them to paint on -- including this one, which I did not like in particular. With limited funds, it quickly became re-purposed, first as a cutting board. When offering to cook friends dinner, I heard the same quip over and over, that I was ruining my most wonderful of all my paintings. When I added legs to it and used it as a coffee table, it was not interpreted as a reasonable act any more than it was a concession to the previous protests. Finally, after two years of absorbing food stains and coffee spills, this painting is officially a painting.
