If one manages to get there, Mareuil-sur-Belle is worth a visit. Birthplace of the lste 12th-century troubadour, Arnaut de Mareuil who is known for having composed lyric poetry in the Occitan language. The village's history is tethered to a number of nobles who throughout the centuries resided there up until the Renassainse period. What remains today echoes a rich history.
