Oregon
Oregon is a state located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It is bordered by Washington to the north, Idaho to the east, California and Nevada to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The state has a diverse geography, ranging from the Pacific Coast to the Cascade Mountains and the high desert of the Great Basin. Oregon was first inhabited by Native Americans, including the Chinook, Kalapuya, and Molalla tribes. In 1811, the Lewis and Clark Expedition explored the area and established the first American settlement in Oregon. In 1843, the Oregon Trail was established, which allowed settlers to travel to Oregon and settle in the Willamette Valley. The Oregon Territory was established in 1848, and it was admitted to the Union as the 33rd state in 1859. Today, Oregon is known for its diverse landscape, including its forests, mountains, and coastline. It is also home to many national parks, including Crater Lake National Park, John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, and Mount Hood National Forest.
