Nebraska: Lost highway, 2014
A marvel since its inception, known as "the main street across America" the Lincoln highway is the first highway that spans the length of the United States, creating a coast-to-coast passage. The Lincoln Highway was the first transcontinental highway in the United States, spanning from Times Square in New York City to Lincoln Park in San Francisco. It was conceived in 1913 by Carl Fisher, a businessman from Indiana, as a way to promote good roads and automobile travel across the country. The highway was named after Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, and was officially dedicated on October 31, 1913.
